A Night of Spooky Magic

Haunted Snake Basket
Haunted Snake Basket

October… how can we not be thinking of Halloween coming? With a theme of Spooky Magic, we got dinner, the 50-50 raffle and other business out of the way to get to the presentations from our members. The Prop Spotlight was done by Sam Durocher demonstrating a Mental Epic (once owned by the late Jerry Conklin) slate and eerily predicting all that the members offered up whether color, three digit number or playing card. Krag Ryal’s Haunted Glove proved able to blindly locate a marked coin in a bag of coins. Randy Vander Wal then offered a wonderful way to work the Snake Basket Effect using a readily available and reasonably inexpensive Halloween display. Ken Salzman demonstrated making coins disappear with the Satan’s Square. Additional effects from John Lindemann and Kim Dyer helped round out the evening of shared magic and fun.
